Zim Cricket team delights Mugabe

President Robert Mugabe has paid tribute to the national cricket team for beating Pakistan in the second test that ended at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
The team’s performance left local cricket enthusiasts basking in the glory of the dramatic win, the first over the giants from the Asian sub continent in 15 years,
President Mugabe says it was a commendable achievement and capped off a fine week in which the Warriors also beat South Africa 2-1 in Johannesburg.
"In our cricket encounter with Pakistan, it is delighting that we managed to beat them with 24 runs, yes 24 runs but a win is a win nevertheless," he said.
Cde Mugabe is an ardent cricket fan who follows the game with keen interest.
Zimbabwe’s 24 run win over Pakistan is expected to enhance the mental strength and confidence of the players ahead of future international assignments, and President Mugabe will no doubt be tracking the team’s progress as he always does.
